CNN recently sat down with Billy Ray Cyrus to talk about the “Hannah Montana: The Movie” DVD release. Much of the talk focused on how Billy Ray’s father affected his life, and how he hopes to pass that on to Miley, but there’s one more important question CNN decided to save until last: Will Miley remake “Achy Breaky Heart?”
It’s kind of funny to think how this question probably would have been left out if a news source focused on a younger demographic were to have conducted the interview. Few know that Billy Ray was originally famous because of his 1991 country hit, “Achy Breaky Heart” — and if they do it’s from “I Love the 90s” reruns on VH1. In fact, for many “Achy Breaky” made him not be taken all that seriously in the public eye. It was his shift to acting that won him some esteem, however. And, of course, that daughter who’s really worth a million bucks.
Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has left a series of heartfelt messages for former flame Justin Gaston — from whom she split from in June after around a year of dating — on Twitter, sparking speculation they may reunite.
She wrote yesterday:
I am in between happy and sad today. I’m happy because I love you. I’m sad because I can’t get enough of you. Earlier this week, the pair both confessed they were struggling to cope with the split by posting their innermost feelings on the internet. Underwear model Justin, 21, wrote:

Imagine a little girl born on November 23, 1992 – there were probably a lot of them. Imagine this little girl’s parents naming her Destiny Hope, two pretty names which together sound as if the little girl would have no choice (destiny) but to become famous and provide a positive influence to a generation of young fans (hope).
Flash forward to August 10, 2009, and the now 16 year-old girl, one of the most known pop stars in the world has just blown the roof off of the Teen Choice Awards with a performance that will not soon be forgotten by her fans or any one else who saw her. She is better known as Miley Ray now – as in Miley Ray Cyrus – and is best known for starring as the title character in the Disney Channel series Hannah Montana. In her short life she’s released two CDs, one as Hannah Montana and one as Miley Cyrus, each debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200. A Golden Globe nomination…listed in Time magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World…ranked #35 on Forbes’ magazine’s “The Celebrity 100” list with earnings of $25 million in 2008…It seems her father, Billy Ray Cyrus and mother/manager (momager) Tish named their daughter right: Destiny/Miley/Hannah seems ready to take over the entertainment world at the tender age of sixteen. And, on top of all her other accomplishments, she is becoming one of the most written about pop stars of her age, with Disney Books Group paying a seven figure pricetag for her biography.
Miles to Go (Disney Hyperion, 2009) is written by Miley herself, all 272 pages. It’s a lot of pages for someone who was virtually unknown a little more than three years ago. Back then Miley lived in rural Tennessee, a life filled with family, friends, school, cheerleading, and the daily tasks of living on a farm. She traveled occasionally with her father when he was popular as a country and western singer, sometimes going on stage with him. The book reads easily and quickly as it has a lot of ground to cover from such humble beginnings to Miley’s audition for the role of Hannah Montana, getting the role, which changed her life forever, and her move to Los Angeles and the resulting stardom. The reader gets a peek into the life of Miley Cyrus, although she cautions that this is only the beginning of her career – there’s plenty more to come.
It seems as though Miley Cyrus has been around forever, rather than about four years. There have already been several books written about her, some essential fan material, and some not so essential. Here are a few more of the more essential:
Miley Cyrus Yearbook 2009 (Orion Press) by Posey Edwards is a 64 page book covering Miley’s amazing journey, including a unique view into her family life, the Hannah Montana craze, stories about and photographs taken of performances, backstage and touring in general. There are also Miley facts, Miley puzzles, Miley jokes and Miley recipes added in. It’s a true insight to Miley Cyrus, incuding fashion advice, tips on her favorite designers plus some skincare and make-up tips. Miley dares to give “date-ability” ratings on some of Hollywood’s most current hot boy stars. She even talks about her ideas on sleepovers and how she makes time for her gal-pals and what they do when Miley is not swamped with her performing resposibilities.
Up Close and Personal: Miley Cyrus: The Unauthorized Biography (Puffin, 2008) by Lauren Alexander is a 128 page book of up close and personal information that offers Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana fans a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be so young, so famous, and now, so rich. There’s plenty about Miley before her Hannah Montana role television launched her to stardom, the difficulties of growing up, and the road she traveled that made her a Hollywood screen and international singing star. There’s even a quiz to test the reader’s newly gained insider knowledge, and there’s plenty of gorgeous, glossy full-color pics, of course.
Miley Cyrus: This is Her Life (Berkly Trade, 2008) by Brittany Kent really proves that the real-life Miley Cyrus really does have the best of both worlds, whether she’s playing her television character of Hannah Montana/Miley Stewart or on tour as herself. In fact, her most recent tour is her record-breaking “Best of Both Worlds” tour, in which she performs both as Hannah Montana and as Miley Cyrus. This book lets the reader in on what it’s like to hang out with Miley, to get to know what it’s like to perform with the Jonas Brothers, and even sing with her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus. The author tells the story of how Miley grew up and how she started singing and how she learned to act…what her favorite things are in life…what matters most to her in her heart, and what her dreams and hopes are for the future. The book also contains 100 or so great pictures of Miley and her friends, fashion tips that will help the readers look like a star, and the scoop on Miley’s family, friends and co-stars.
Miley Cyrus (Junk Food:Tasty Clebrity Bios Series) (Franklin Watts, 2009) by Emma Carlson Berne is a 112 page book written in a colorful, magazine style in which the design focuses more on graphics and plenty of photographs to catch the reader’s attention. The writing is fast and breezy, in that magazine sort of style. The over-all package allows for a reader to open the book at any point and start reading or looking over the quotes, sidebars, information boxes, photographs with captions – just like a magazine. Short features in each chapter include “True or False” type questions, “Did You Know” facts, “Overheard” quotes, and plenty of those “Oh My God!” moments that make up celebrity magazines. The Junk Food Star Guide also includes a timeline of Miley Cyrus’ life, a discography, and plenty of information about fan sites.

Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus’ big brother Trace has revealed that he would not clean up his image to please anyone.
The tattooed singer/guitarist for the rock group Metro Station even insisted that he would not be following the route taken by the Jonas Brothers, as he wants to live his life freely.
‘I’m not trying to clean my image to make anyone happy,’ People magazine quoted him as telling Details.
‘I could have gone the route of the Jonas Bros. Those guys can’t live their lives freely. They have to put out this image that’s totally fake,’ he said.
On the Jonas Brothers not liking what he said about them, Trace, 20, said that he could take them all in a fight, though he’d back off on his sister’s ex-boyfriend Nick.
‘I don’t think any of them would be much trouble,’ he said.
‘I’d never lay a hand on Nick – I love that kid – but the other two better not get in my way,’ he added.
You might not be a rock star, but Miley Cyrus is about to give you the chance to tour like one — at least for a day — and raid her closet while you’re at it. The teen star is partnering up with eBay in an online auction that gives one fan and three of her friends the chance to hit the road with the teen star, and be her “roadie for a day,” going behind-the-scenes at one of her upcoming concerts and hanging out backstage. Miley is also cleaning out her closet and auctioning off some of her favorite outfits — including this Theory dress that she wore to the Bolt premiere last November. All proceeds from the auctions will benefit the Pappy Cyrus Family Foundation, the Cyrus family’s personal charity that was founded last year in honor of her granddad to help kids in need. An Appling man who was arrested in June while attending a shoot for Miley Cyrus’ new movie in Tybee Island, Ga., was taken into custody today by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office on a charge of criminal attempt stalking.
Mark McLeod, 53, was arrested “without incident” at about 5:15 p.m. at his home on Linder-McCurdy Road, said sheriff’s Capt. Steve Morris. Tybee Island authorities had issued an arrest warrant earlier today.
Capt. Morris said he believed that Mr. McLeod, who was warned to stay away from Miley, was seen back in the Tybee Island area Sunday.
He is being held at the Columbia County Detention Center until Tybee Island police pick him up, Capt. Morris said.
“From what we’ve been told, they will pick him up in the morning and take him back to Tybee,” he said.
Miley Cyrus has her heart set on playing Batgirl in the follow-up to The Dark Knight, it has been claimed.
The 16-year-old Hannah Montana star is apparently so desperate to land the role, she showed up at a movie producer’s office wearing a Batgirl suit and pitched him on the idea of playing a character who helps the caped crusader fight crime.
“She was sort of hopping around around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer. “The problem is, some people aren’t really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it off.”
Miley recently revealed that she hates constantly having to be away from home.
“The best thing is the traveling and meeting new people, and the worst thing is the traveling,” she dished. “It is the best and worst because I am away from home all the time.
“Also, it is fun to meet new people and see new things and go places that you probably wouldn’t be able to go.”

Concerned studio executives called Los Angeles police to warn them that a man could be stalking teen idol Miley Cyrus. Disney officials got in touch with authorities in the Hannah Montana star’s hometown after a man who was arrested as she was filming a new movie was released from jail because of overcrowding. Mark McLeod, 53, was arrested on June 22 on Tybee Island in Georgia, where the 16-year-old was shooting her new flick, The Last Song.
He told police that she was sending him “secret messages” through her TV show – and insisted to them: “I will f*cking be with Miley.” He was released from jail the day after his arrest and his whereabouts are now unknown. That prompted Disney execs to alert police in Los Angeles, where Miley now lives, amid fears he could target her again.
